Our original product was a Practice Management System for Physiotherapists named Physiotech released in 1993. It was exciting at the time because it was the first windows-based practice management system in Australia.

We concentrated on Sydney initially, with offices located in Pitt St. Within a few years however, we had agents popping up in cities across the country. We also began adapting the software to other medical professions such as Podiatry, Chiropractors and more.

Our expertise and experience continued to build and a new system was developed for General Practice. A revolutionary multi-disciplinary system was also introduced for Sports Medicine Centres and Multi-Site practices. Client numbers had reached over 200 and the various systems were widely used throughout Australia.

In 1998 Gumnut Software decided to move into the Hair and Beauty Salon market. Gumnut Salon Manager was developed after significant research and consultation with professionals in the industry. It proved hugely successful and within a year, the Gumnut Software client base more than doubled.

The next evolution came with a product called Natural, released to cover the growing alternative and complimentary Health market. By now, Gumnut Software systems were being used by virtually any type of Medical, Para-medical, Hair, Beauty, Tanning, Nails and even Fitness and Personal training business, including multi-disciplinary and multi-site operations using Windows Terminal Server technology. We became the software everyone turned to!

In 2002, we undertook the porting of all our applications to the Office XP technology. At the same time, we embraced the Installshield installation system, and a very sophisticated Help System based on java technology, using HTML. This massive project was finished at the start of 2004 and brings our systems inline with the latest technologies available.

We never stand still. In 2003, Gumnut Software started a new project - developing a high end product for the Day Spa and Leisure Management Industries. The target market being mainly larger Day Spas, Hotel Day Spas and Retreat Spas and fitness clubs.

This has delivered our greatest Gumnut Software success to date, with two versions of the Xclusiv product released. One for stand-alone sites and one, delivered in 2005, for Multi-Site operations, some with Call Centres for central booking operations.

In 2005 we have decided to change our technological platform so that we can develop systems with the latest technological offerings. We have decided to use Microsoft’s .net and Sql Server Database platforms. We have also decided to redevelop all of our previous systems into 1 high-end product. This system is what we are selling and developing further now.

The current system is a Single or Multi-site, Multi-lingual platform with interface to lots of third party products and Web Booking. It can be used on any windows platform including Terminal servers. It is developed as a true Client/Server application.

Currently we have over 1000 clients all over the world from small practices and salons to major Spa centers and resorts to 5 star hotels..
